Pain Management

Chronic or acute pain can be severely debilitating if not managed appropriately.

While traditional oral pain relief can be effective, it may result in unwanted side effects, such as constipation, drowsiness, dry mouth, urinary retention, dry eyes and nausea.

By administering smaller doses via the skin (transdermally) this may reduce the side effects which a patient may experience.

Transdermal delivery is the administration of medicines via the skin. Pain medication can be used to treat a variety of medical conditions, such as nerve pain, cancer pain, palliative care, strained muscles, severe headaches, osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia.

At Life Compounding we commonly use the following pain relievers in our preparations:

  • Local Anaesthetics creams and gels – i.e. Tetracaine, Lignocaine, Benzocaine
  • Ketamine
  • Amitriptyline
  • Ketoprofen
  • Gabapentin
  • Baclofen
  • Carbamazepine
