Pain Management

Chronic or acute pain can be severely debilitating if not managed appropriately.

Whilst traditional oral pain relief can be effective it often results in many unwanted systemic side effects such as constipation, drowsiness, dry mouth, urinary retention, dry eyes and nausea.

By administering smaller doses via the skin (transdermally) this can reduce the side effects that a patient may experience.

Transdermal delivery (administering medicines via skin) of pain medications can be used for many medical conditions, including nerve pain, cancer pain, palliative care, strained muscles, severe headaches, osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia.

At Life Compounding we commonly use the following pain relievers in our preparations:

  • Local Anaesthetics creams and gels – i.e. Tetracaine, Lignocaine, Benzocaine
  • Ketamine
  • Amitriptyline
  • Ketoprofen
  • Gabapentin
  • Baclofen
  • Carbamazepine
